You can. Hotjar is a tool - it shows you recordings and heatmaps. But a tool doesn't tell you what to change, or in what order, or what the change will actually do to your revenue. A homepage redesign is a creative decision. CRO is a scientific process. We don't change things because they "look better" - we change things because the data shows a specific friction point at a specific stage of the funnel, and we have a hypothesis about what will reduce that friction. Sometimes the problem IS the homepage. Often it isn't - it's the PDP, the cart, or the checkout. A redesign assumes the problem. A Revenue Leak Audit finds it.
Then we'll tell you that. If the audit reveals that reviews are consistently negative, return rates are high, or the product-market fit is genuinely weak - we won't pretend that CRO will fix it. We've walked out of engagements where the honest answer was "the website is not your problem." We'd rather lose a project than take money for something that won't move the number. That said: in the vast majority of cases for brands with decent traffic and a real product, the funnel is the problem - not the product.
